Love your ideas. I did try to get my students on Twitter to remind them of projects, exams, quizzes on line, etc. The great majority either had never heard of Twitter. That was just during my "trial period" this past Spring.

Luckily, I think all the developments in Iran have brought Twitter to the forefront and it will be easier to get them to use it. I am adding my Twitter name on my card so that parents can follow me on it.

I'm with you, technology is to be used, specially in the classroom. Don't fear it, embrace it.

It's great to see you using social media and the web. As a working parent it isn't easy to stay involved and keep up on what is going on. I wish we had more teachers like you that take the initiative and provide avenues to the classroom and stay connected. Keep in touch and let me know how things work out and how you expand your communications.

Yes, I'd love it! I will be announcing to my classroom parents that besides my email I use Twitter all day long. I'll ask if any have used it. I'll offer to teach them.

I still have people that think the internet is evil. My goal is to remove paperless weekly newsletters and keep aiming parents toward the website that the teachers and I spend lots of time updating daily.

Everyone is on their own "first step", I guess
